Novatek: Owner of Yamal LNG tankers out of US sanctions

MOSCOW, Oct 22 (PRIME) -- Gas producer Novatek’s Yamal LNG has received a notification from TC LNG Shipping, a joint-venture owning the facility’s Arc7 ice-class tankers, that the carrier is no longer considered a Blocked Person under the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) rules, Novatek said in a statement on Tuesday.

On September 25, OFAC included China’s COSCO Shipping Tanker (Dalian) into the Specially Designated Nationals List for an alleged breach of sanctions on Iran. COSCO Dalian owns 50% in China LNG Shipping. TC LNG is a joint-venture between Teekay LNG and China LNG Shipping.
